Our story

One family, one market,
one grill.

Casa Maré opened in an old fisherman's house in the old town with one simple idea: cook what the Ria Formosa and the eastern Algarve coast give us each season, and nothing more.

Every morning we go to the Olhão market. What is good comes back with us. What is not up to standard stays behind. That is why the menu changes, and the chalkboard on the wall always tells the truth.

Our wines come from the Algarve and the Alentejo, from small producers we know by name. The bread comes from a wood oven in Estoi.

What guides us

Season first

Sardines in summer, clams in winter, octopus when the sea allows. We follow the calendar of the Ria.

Few things, done well

A short menu, cooked by a small kitchen that tastes everything before it leaves the pass.

Like a guest at home

We welcome every table as if it were our own living room. No rush, no ceremony.
